After the original season start was postponed by 2 weeks to enable the pitches to soften following the drought, Avon rugby club start their new campaign this coming Saturday 26th September.

Their opponents at Hicks Field are Bridgwater & Albion, a club that Avon haven’t played for many years and who should present a stern opening challenge in a 2:30pm kick off.

The 2nd team "Elite" are also at home to Bradford on Avon at 2pm to complete a double header with a decent crowd expected.

Avon signed off their pre-season preparations with an excellent all-round team performance in a friendly match last week against Old Sulians. Impressive debut performances were given by new recruits Addy Arole at full back and Tom Baldwin in the back row to contribute towards a comprehensive victory.
