According to the records in 1959, Avon were the first West Country side to tour overseas with a visit to Amsterdam where one of their matches was advertised as Holland vs England and played in front of 2000 people after the national anthems were played before kick off.

In 1976, Avon again toured to Amsterdam as the culmination of their Golden Jubilee season, having then been founded 50 years earlier in 1925.

Now, as Avon look forward to celebrating their Centenary next season in 2025-26, players from the Club are once again recreating links with the past as they embark upon another memorable visit to the Dutch capital. In common with tours in general, few details are known about their planned visit but perhaps some stories may emerge afterwards to be added to the historical annals. Or perhaps not!
