It was intended that there would be an official announcement and presentation of the new sign with the Mutlow and Gapper clans after the match last Saturday. Unfortunately, the continual rain which forced the match to be called off, put paid to that plan.

Instead, the sign was presented to Tony at home and will be erected in the clubhouse shortly.

Club Captain, Kane Book, said:

"For the first time in our history, the clubhouse bar will now have a name. It will be called the Tony Mutlow Bar.

Tony has given so much to the club over so many years and, whilst we can never thank him enough for what he has done for us, we hope this gesture goes some way to letting him know how much he means to us all.

Please do raise your glass for a toast to Tony the next time you order a pint."

Tony is sadly fighting against a terminal illness and showing all his determination, forged from many years in the front row, together with his dedication to the Club. Avon RFC wish him all the best as he continues his struggle.
