Avon cruised to their 20th league win of the season against a brave Winscombe team who never stopped trying to play rugby despite the scoreline.
Winscombe took the lead after 5 mins with a well struck penalty. But after that it was one way traffic as Avon racked up 11 unanswered try's. The pick of these being a sweeping
move which involved just about every member of the team before the ever improving Ross Atherton cut a great line to score his second try under the post just before half time.
Fly half Des Bowden took his try tally for the season to 24 with a hat trick and Sam Rowlands went past the 300 mark for the season with a try and 7 conversions. The rest of the try's were added by Dixon, Hurd, Thompson sawyer and Robinson in another good all round team performance as Avon looked to attack at every opportunity.
The one player in the team who's has failed to get his name on the scoresheet this season is 22 year old prop forward Kane Book for whom this was his 100th 1st team appearance for Avon.
With Avon and Wells now both well clear in the League it looks like the destination on the title may well come down to the game between these two side on Wednesday 18th of April at Hicksfield where the inform Wells will be looking to avenge their defeat by Avon earlier in the season.
