Avon made it 9 from 9 for the season when they won their 7th away game of the season so.far at Gordano.

You should not be fooled by the final scoreline in this Somerset premier clash. With less then 15 mins to go Gordano were just 1 point down against an unbeaten Avon side who had spluttered through the game making far to many unforced errors against a home side who had battled for ever ball

It looked like business as usual for Avon as after 10 mins captain Kai Harwood got the reward of the first try as The Avon pack pushed Gordano back over the line from a 5 metre scrum. 10 mins later fly half DES Bowden chipped and gathered twice on his way up the touchline to add an excellent 2nd score and at this point Avon looked set for a straight forward enough win.

They then imploded, 2 mins later a messy line out, a missed tackle and Gordano were in under the post. Gordano who were producing a lot of possession and a high number of turnovers then added a pen to bring the scores level after 35 mins. Avons man of the match Stuart Thompson then got them back to basics as he straighten the line To put young winger  Zak Harwood away up the right wing for a score in the corner which was converted by Rowlands to give Avon a 10 17 half time lead.

With a slight slope and breeze in their favour second half Avon expected better things but the dogged Gordano side would not lie down and added two more penalties to bring it back to a one point game. By this point no one one the Avon side was thinking about the bonus point as they were desperately trying to put their game together to hold on to the win. Rowalnds steadied the nerves a little with a pen on 68 mins and then he managed to find winger Harwood some space on the right wing and after some excellent support play 2nd row Jake Dixon went over under the posts. Rowlands converted to give Avon some breathing space. Gordano were now chasing the game and were unlucky when an attempted quick drop out was charged down by The tireless Scot Book to allow Bowden to touch down under the posts and then in injury time replacement Ollie Flight in his first game back after 6 weeks out with injury intercepted a pass to sprint 50 Metre and score in the corner to give the full time scoreline a look which Gordano did not deserve.
