Around 50 youngsters from 5 schools took part in sweltering conditions where temperatures soared to 30 degrees. The enthusiasm and learning of the girls was impressive throughout the afternoon.
Huge thanks to organiser Andie Parry as Avon's schools liaison officer and to Kane Book for his support. Well done to Tony Mutlow, Paul Kirby and Steve Bird who helped out on the day with jugs of water to keep everybody rehydrated.
The festival will be repeated again next year and a separate tournament for boys is also planned. Meanwhile Andie has drawn up a programme of coaching sessions for local schools in the eastern Bath cluster.
