After having been diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier this year, Fred Kyte finally lost his struggle at the weekend.
Fred was a former President and Life Member of Avon who had been a loyal player, supporter and official, giving around 50 years service to the Club.
At the recent Annual Dinner, the attendees gave a standing ovation and a minutes applause to commemorate his active involvement with Avon over the years.
Fred was well known in local rugby circles, being an active member of the Bath Rugby Combination, as well as an enthusiastic supporter of Somerset cricket and a keen skittler and cribbage player.
Fred will be sorely missed at Avon and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
